Our tannery is LWG Gold certified, and our leathers comply with European REACH regulations and are certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG), reflecting our commitment to a more responsible leather industry.
The leather we use is a secondary material. It comes from cattle that graze in fields in Scotland and Scandinavia.While the meat serves the food industry, the hides are carefully selected and processed in one of Belgium’s finest tanneries.
Our leather is vegetable-tanned using natural extracts from mimosa and chestnut bark, completely free of chrome. This environmentally responsible process enhances durability while reducing impact on the planet.
The result is a strong yet supple leather, naturally softened to ensure the comfort and flexibility that define AESAERT bags. Developing even more character with every use.
Custom Made
At Aesaert, we offer bespoke bags that hold deep emotional meaning for some of our clients. In our atelier in Ghent, we carefully craft bags using materials such as a shirt or fabric from a loved one who has passed away, turning them into a unique and personal piece.
We treat each project with the utmost care and love, creating a special bag to honor someone important. These projects are incredibly meaningful to us, and we feel privileged to be entrusted with the most treasured fabrics. It’s not just craftsmanship; it’s creating a lasting memory.
