Introducing NINA: structure in motion

Introducing NINA: structure in motion

At AESAERT, every design begins with time.

Time to explore, to question, to refine. Not to follow a trend, but to understand what a bag truly needs to be in form, in function, and in feeling.

NINA is the result of that process.

Over the past three years, this design has quietly evolved in our atelier in Ghent. What started as a question became a series of prototypes, eight in total, each one bringing us closer to the right balance.

With NINA, we set out to create a bag that sits between two extremes. In a landscape where handbags are often either very small or oversized, we were looking for something generous in size, yet soft. A bag that moves with you, while remaining refined.

The starting point for NINA was a personal request. A client came to us with a clear vision, a laptop bag crafted in our signature vegetable-tanned leather. From that moment, the design took shape slowly, intuitively, and with care.

Designed entirely in our Ghent atelier, NINA reflects what we stand for, thoughtful construction, honest materials, and a quiet sense of elegance.

The leather itself is sourced from one of Belgium’s finest tanneries, known for its exceptional quality. Its natural suppleness defines the bag, allowing structure without stiffness, and form without constraint.

At AESAERT, we believe a design is only ready when nothing more needs to be added or taken away. Sometimes that takes months. Sometimes years.

NINA carries that time within it.

With love,

Griet
